Welcome to the OSA University College Dublin (UCD) Student Chapter website. The UCD OSA Student Chapter was found in 2005 by our Advisor, Prof. John T. Sheridan. We are based in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Belfield, University College Dublin, D4, Dublin, Ireland.

|President – Laura Tobin
Laura is a PhD Candidate researching solar energy (dye-sensitised solar cells) and LED lighting, and is a graduate of the TCD-UCD Innovation Academy. She is actively involved in education, outreach and public engagement; including Dublin Maker (co-organiser), the UCD Student Chapter, WITS (Women in Technology & Science) Ireland Executive Committee and International Year of Light, Ireland.

|Treasurer – Ra’ed Malallah
Ra’ed graduated from University of Basrah at BSc (1997) in General Physics field; and MSc (2006) in Communication/Microwave field. He has been a member of teaching staff (Lecturer) at the Department of Physics, College of Science, University of Basrah since 2007. In addition, he was a lecturer in Iraq University College at 2012/2013. For the time being, he has been nominated on a scholarship at University College Dublin (UCD) to pursue his PhD research, as part of Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research program. He is working at Holography Materials, Waveguides and Data Storage field under Prof. John T. Sheridan supervision in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University College Dublin, Ireland.
|Secretary – Inbarasan Muniraj
Inbarasan Muniraj is current a PhD research scholar in University College Dublin (UCD), Dublin, Ireland. He received B.E. degree, in Electronics and Communication Engineering, from St. Peters Engineering College, Anna University, Chennai, in 2009, and the M.E. degree in Computer Engineering, with the specialization of 3D image processing, from Chosun University, Gwangju, South Korea, in 2013. Later, he worked as a researcher in Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) for one year. Further, he is one of the successful award holders of a prestigious and highly competitive postgraduate Scholarship Scheme (PG-STEM) sponsored by Irish Research Council (IRC) 2014-2017. He is also an active and enthusiastic student member of the OSA student chapter.
His research interests are in the areas of computational 3D integral imaging, Photon-counting imaging, digital holography, optical and digital encryptions, compressive sensing, linear canonical transforms and colour science
